Road rage shooting incident near Colorado Springs Airport; bullet stopped by victim’s wallet
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KRDO)-- Ongoing investigation efforts are underway following a road rage shooting incident that happened near the Colorado Springs Airport.
The incident happened on Tuesday, October 31, just before 5 p.m. Officers were called for service on reports of a road rage incident near the Colorado Springs Airport at Milton Proby Parkway and Peak Innovation.
The victim of the incident told officers the suspect shot at his car with the bullet hitting the front passenger side of the car and at the victim's right thigh. Luckily, the bullet did not penetrate the victim’s skin because it was stopped by his wallet which was in the side cargo pocket of his pants.
The victim provided a description of the suspect’s car and officers reported checking the airport and surrounding business parking lots to find the suspect, but they failed to locate them.
The investigation is still ongoing.
