Shooting in east Colorado Springs leaves one in critical condition

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KRDO)-- The Colorado Springs Police Department (CSPD) is investigating a shooting at the Powers and Constitution Street intersection around 4 a.m. Police initially were investigating this as a possible road rage incident but now say they do not believe that is the case.

According to CSPD, the victim who is now in critical condition, ended up at a nearby Circle K seeking help.

A worker from Circle K told KRDO she heard five gunshots and just moments later noticed a man covered in blood in the parking who was attempting to get out of the car.

That's when she rushed out to help and noticed multiple gunshots all over the car.

Shortly after calling 911, the victim was taken to the hospital.

When officers arrived at the scene, they examined the victim's blue Ford sedan. The car was struck with at least five bullets on both sides and the rear of the car.

No arrests have been made and police are still looking for a suspect.

The victim's identity has not been released yet. This is currently an ongoing investigation.
