Entire San Isabel area added to pre-evacuation area for St. Charles Fire
PUEBLO COUNTY, Colo. (KRDO) - The Pueblo County Sheriff's Office (PCSO) announced Monday afternoon that a pre-evacuation notice has been ordered for areas off Hwy 78 and 165 due to the St. Charles Fire.
According to the PCSO, Simonson Meadows, Aspen Acres, and Tara J on Hwy 78 & 165 are now on pre-evac notice due to conditions with the fire.
Officials say that conditions could quickly change and residents should be prepared to leave.
Later Monday evening, the Custer County Sheriff's Office (CCSO) announced that the entire San Isabel area had been added to the pre-evacuation notice. The CCSO also said that the fire is expected to grow overnight from its current size of 159 acres and top the ridge. Residents in the area will likely see flames when the fire makes it over the ridge.
The CCSO said this most recent update on the fire has been sent to residents via the Everbridge system.
