Pedestrian killed in parking lot crash on N. Academy Blvd. identified

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KRDO) -- The Colorado Springs Police Department (CSPD) responded to a crash involving a pedestrian on Thursday, Aug. 31, in a parking lot on N. Academy Blvd.

CSPD said when officers arrived on scene, they found a pedestrian trapped under a white sedan. Medical personnel on scene determined the pedestrian was dead.

That pedestrian has now been identified as 51-year-old Marcus Bogart of Colorado Springs.

According to CSPD, neither speed nor alcohol are being considered as factors in the crash. No further information about the driver of the vehicle has been provided.

CSPD said this is the 30th traffic fatality in Colorado Springs so far this year. At this time last year, there were 36.
