All the places you can celebrate your beloved pet for National Dog Day on Aug. 26
COLORADO, USA (KRDO)-- Saturday, August 26, marks National Dog Day and it’s a special day for pet owners to not only honor and celebrate their pets, but also a day where you can get in on some pretty sweet treats.
Scooter’s Coffee
As the dog days of summer come to close, Scooter’s Coffee is putting a spin on puppy-loved "Pup Cups" with a free, fall-inspired Pumpkin Spice Cup made entirely up of dog-friendly ingredients.
The sweet treat is complete with whipped cream, a pumpkin dog treat, and a dusting of cinnamon.
The first 15 canine customers at each Scooter’s Coffee store on National Dog Day will receive a bandana imprinted with the Scooter’s Coffee signature ‘Smiley’ logo at all participating locations while supplies last.
Scooter’s Coffee also is launching a search for the first-ever “Scooter’s Coffee Dogfluencer.”
Participants may enter their dog in the contest by completing all of the following actions:
- LIKE and FOLLOW Scooter’s Coffee on Facebook or FOLLOW Scooter’s Coffee on Instagram
- LIKE the Aug. 25 Facebook or Instagram post that announces the contest and TAG three friends in the comments
- VISIT a Scooter’s Coffee location during operating hours on Aug. 26 and take a photo of your dog enjoying a free Pumpkin Spice Pup Cup
- UPLOAD the photo to your Facebook or Instagram between Aug. 26, and Aug. 27, using the hashtag #ScootersPupCup and tagging Scooter’s Coffee in the post.
Between Aug. 28, and Aug. 29, customers can visit Scooter’s Coffee Facebook or Instagram to view the top six finalists that the company selected and vote for their favorite dog.
The dog with the most votes will be announced on Aug. 30, and will receive the grand prize of being featured on a billboard in Omaha, Nebraska where Scooter’s Coffee is headquartered.
The winning dog’s owner will receive a doggy bag full of fun surprises and free coffee for a year, via a credit through the Scooter’s Coffee Mobile App.
The remaining finalists will also receive a doggy bag.

BARK
The makers of BarkBox are bringing back its tattoo contest for a second year in a row to ink dog-obsessed humans for National Dog Day.
To win a tattoo of your furry friend, submit a photo of your dog and an explanation on why they are the most deserving of this permanent declaration of love on the contest submission site at the link here.
Winners will be able to choose their own style, placement and artist, and BARK will reimburse them for the tattoo.
In addition to free ink, winners will also receive bonus products from BARK.
The contest closes September 8, and winners will be notified on or before Sept. 31.
SCHEELS
Colorado Springs SCHEELS is presenting a “Dog Pawty” hosted by Parker the Snow Dog.
The “Dog Pawty” event will take place from 10-3 p.m. on National Dog Day at the Colorado Springs SCHEELS at 1226 Interquest Parkway in the parking lot.
The dog-friendly event is free to attend and will feature event-exclusive discounts, vendors, giveaways, and more!
There will be a variety of experiences for attendees to enjoy, including free "pup cups," a visit from the Police Department K9 Unit, and the Kona Ice Truck.
Attendees will also have the opportunity to get free dog bowls and bandanas, register to win for six different prize packages, and enjoy games for their dogs.

All Breed Rescue & Training
All Breed Rescue & Training (ABRT) will be hosting their annual Romp Event and it’s a dog-themed carnival-type event held every year in honor of National Homeless Animals Day (Aug. 26).
The event will start at 11 a.m. and end at 4 p.m. at the ABRT facility, on 410 ½ E. Fillmore Street.
This free, public carnival welcomes all well-behaved and leashed dogs and will see food and drinks, vendors, training demonstrations, and plenty of fun games and activities for all to come and participate.
There will also be different competitions and games for both dogs and people and more than 100 different raffle baskets that people can enter to win.
