COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KRDO)-- A hit-and-run involving a motorcyclist has led to the arrest of a driver who now faces several charges.

On Monday, August 21, at around 8:13 p.m., a hit-and-run crash involving a motorcycle was reported to the Colorado Springs Police Department (CSPD) at 26th St. and west Cimmaron St.

On scene, investigation efforts revealed the motorcyclist was traveling westbound on Cimmaron, crossing 26th St. on a green light, when they were hit by a passenger van traveling northbound on 26th St.

Officers with the CSPD reported receiving video footage of the incident from a witness who saw the hit-and-run before going to the driver of the passenger van’s home, finding the vehicle, and then the driver.

The CSPD stated the driver was evaluated and arrested for DUI and other traffic charges. They added that alcohol was a factor in the crash.
