Historic Denver celebrates Colorado Day with interactive Scavenger Hunt

HISTORIC DENVER, Colo. (KRDO)-- August 1, marks the state of Colorado’s 147th birthday and Capitol Hill is celebrating by offering a free interactive Scavenger Hunt for participants at three historic sites.
The Scavenger Hunt will be held up until Sunday, August 6, and will connect Historic Denver’s Molly Brown House Museum, History Colorado, and the Colorado Capitol grounds through a series of interactive clues as participants use their phones to uncover Colorado's history while exploring the Capitol Hill neighborhood to learn about its historic inhabitants.
To participate in the Scavenger Hunt, visit the link by clicking here. Prior to the event, people who register will receive an email with a link to begin the Scavenger Hunt which can be completed anytime until August 6.
In light of Colorado Day, these three historic Colorado sites are also offering special activities you can be a part of (*For August 1, only):
- Molly Brown House Museum
- 1340 Pennsylvania St.
- Free self-guided tours will be available from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on a first come, first serve basis.
- All guests will get to see the summer exhibit, The World Is Changing: Margaret at the World’s Fair, as well as visit three floors of Mrs. Brown's home.
- History Colorado
- 1200 Broadway
- Free admission from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
- Arts and crafts, live music, snacks and alpacas are just the tip of the snow cone at this carnivalesque gathering fit for an entire state.
- Colorado State Capitol
- 200 E. Colfax Ave
- Free and open to the public from 7:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
- Tours (including a trip up to the dome) from 9:30 am to 3:00 p.m.
- Additional festivities, including themed presentations, a book signing with local authors, baked goods to sample, and much more, will be offered from 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.
