Palmer Lake Police Department still looking for 32-year-old man with history of mental illness

PALMER LAKE, Colo. (KRDO)-- The Palmer Lake Police Department is still looking for a man who has been missing since July 22. 

At around 5 p.m. on Saturday, July 22, officers with the Palmer Lake Police Department responded to the area of Forest Way and Red Rock Ranch Drive for reports of a missing person. 

They reported he was last seen that same day at around 7:15 a.m. leaving from his home in the Red Rock Ranch neighborhood. 

Identified as 32-year-old Niklaus Michael Bennet, he is described as white man, around 6’2, and weighing about 200 pounds. 

Bennett has an unshaven face and was last seen wearing a blue t-shirt and dark shorts with teal and orange sole shoes. 

The Palmer Lake Police Department stated Niklaus Bennet has a history of mental illness and can become aggressive. He is also known to sustain injuries without fully recognizing the condition of his own body. 

The Police Department reported Bennet has been missing in the past and has ended up in the Denver area.  

Niklaus Bennet may be disoriented and confused and if seen, the public is asked to not approach him but to call 911 or the Palmer Lake Police Department through the El Paso County Emergency line at (719)-390-5555.
