Hot weather and a daily chance for afternoon showers and thunderstorms returns late week

TONIGHT: Mostly clear and calm conditions prevail across southern Colorado through the evening and overnight hours. Overnight lows temps in the 50's and 60's just before sunrise Wednesday morning.

TOMORROW: High pressure dominates the forecast region through Wednesday with soaring temps in the 90's and near 100° for the eastern plains and areas around the Arkansas river valley.

EXTENDED: A dome of high pressure will continue to dominate our weather pattern through the end of the week. Expect hot temperatures and a daily shot for afternoon showers and thunderstorms. High temperatures will linger in the 90s through Saturday.
