ADAMS COUNTY, Colo. (KRDO)-- Colorado State Patrol (CSP) is holding a press conference after one of their troopers fell off a bridge in Adams County following two traffic crashes.

The incident happened around 3:45 a.m. on Saturday, July 22.

At the time of the crash, luckily, that trooper was outside of the car.

Shortly after, another driver entered the scene and hit a second unoccupied CSP vehicle, forcing the trooper over a bridge barrier and down an embankment, where he fell approximately 30 feet below.

The trooper was reported to have been taken to the hospital for serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

Following those incidents, I-270 Eastbound was closed from I-76 Southbound for investigation efforts.

Officials with State Patrol state they believe both drivers were impaired at the time of the crashes.

Now, Colorado State Patrol will hold a press conference on Monday, July 24, at 12:30 p.m. to discuss the incident and release dashcam video of the events leading up to the crashes.
