District 20 working to provide resources to ensure military students don’t fall behind

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KRDO) -- Academy School District 20 is looking for ways to make getting an education easier for kids in military families.

This is part of a statewide effort for Military Child Month to find solutions to help the growing population of military families in Colorado Springs.

Colorado Springs is home to several large military installations. Thanks to those military installations, thousands of military kids attend school in District 20.

There are 118 students just at Eagleview Middle School who've moved to the Pikes Peak Area because of their military parents.

KRDO spoke with one military family who admitted there are several challenges they face when transferred to other bases across the country.
