USPS hosting hiring fairs across Colorado to hire 1,000 people

COLORADO (KRDO) -- The U.S. Postal Service (USPS) is hosting a weeklong hiring "mega blitz" over the next week in Colorado, with plans to hire 1,000 people "for the holiday season and beyond."

The hiring fair will be held at 14 postal facilities across Colorado from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Oct. 22 - 29.

According to the USPS, the available postal positions, which offer starting pay from $18.92 to $21.19 an hour, are great opportunities for anyone seeking fast-paced, rewarding work environments with good pay, and are a first step that could lead to long-term careers for the Postal Service.

Those that are unable to attend the job fairs can apply online at www.usps.com/careers.

USPS employment requirements include the following:

•     Must be 18 years old at the time of appointment or 16 years old with a high school diploma.

•     Must be able to pass a criminal background check, drug screening, and medical assessment.

•     Must be a U.S. citizen, permanent resident, or citizen of American Samoa or other U.S. Territory.

•     Must provide recent employment history.

•     Must have a safe driving record (if applicable to the position).

The postal facilities that will host the job fairs are listed below.

October 22nd from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m.

Evergreen, Pueblo Main Office

October 24th from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m.

Brighton, Johnstown

October 25th from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m.

Evergreen,Longmont

October 26th from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m.

Golden,Windsor

October 27th from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m.

Basalt,Glenwood Springs

October 28th from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m.

Denver General Mail Facility,

October 29th

Aurora Main from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m.

Castle Rock from 11 a.m. – 3 p.m.

Littleton Highlands Ranch from 8 a.m. – 12 p.m.
