D60 to host Peace Summit on Saturday

PUEBLO, COUNTY, Colo. (KRDO) -- District 60 and community partners will gather Saturday to celebrate peace and inclusiveness.
In a statement, D60 said that they believe that kindness is a gift that should be given often, and to celebrate that fact, they are once again hosting the Community Peace Summit.
According to D60, the summit will reflect an ongoing effort to create and foster peace and involve families and the community in that noble effort. To that end, scholars from all grade levels will showcase creative projects centered around kindness and compassion, with the stage to host uplifting performances from vocalists and musicians from Fountain and Corwin International Magnet Schools; Bradford, Park View, Highland Park, Beulah Heights and Baca elementary schools; and Centennial and Central high schools.
The district said participating community partners include, Target Distribution Center, Greater Pueblo Chamber of Commerce, Hope Thru Hooves, Pueblo Poverty Foundation, Pueblo Realtors, Pueblo Rocks, Board of Water Works, Rocky Mountain Realty, Power Credit Union, Pueblo City-County Library District, YMCA of Pueblo, Sunwest Credit Union, Pueblo Police Department, Services de la Raza, St. Mary Corwin Medical Center, and Boys and Girls Clubs of Pueblo County.
The community-wide event will begin at 10 a.m. on Saturday at Pueblo Convention Center.
