Doherty HS student involved in auto/pedestrian crash near school Thursday

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KRDO) -- Around 1:40 p.m. Thursday, the Colorado Springs Police Department (CSPD) responded to an auto/pedestrian crash in the 4500 block of Barnes Road.

This is near Doherty High School, in the northeast part of Colorado Springs.

CSPD said their preliminary investigation revealed a juvenile, male, high school student was hit by a vehicle while attempting to cross Barnes Rd. from Doherty High School. Lanes were closed while police investigated but the road is now back open.

The school told KRDO that the student was taken to an area hospital with no serious injuries.

No further information is available at this time.
