City of Colorado Springs seeks volunteers to serve on various committees
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KRDO) -- The City of Colorado Springs is seeking volunteers to serve on a number of committees.
Currently, volunteers are sought to serve on the Independent Ethics Commission, Initiative Review Committee, and the Stormwater Advisory Committee.
Independent Ethics Commission
- The Independent Ethics Commission (IEC) was created by the City of Colorado Springs and is charged with the implementation of the City’s Code of Ethics for certain covered persons.
- Meeting Time — As Needed
- Vacancies – One citizen at large member
Initiative Review Committee
- The Committee reviews, comments on, and offers advisory opinions on initiated municipal election issues.
- Meeting Time — As Needed
- Vacancies – One citizen at large member (Must have expertise in election matters acquired through education and experience)
Stormwater Advisory Committee
- The Stormwater Advisory Committee provides City Council with citizen input on the stormwater system and operation of the enterprise, along with advice and recommendations on the projects to be undertaken.
- Meeting Time — 3rd Thursday at 2 p.m. in February, May, August, and November
- Vacancies – One member actively engaged in the business of property development or homebuilding, two members with experience or training in civil engineering, water law or water resources planning, flood control or related fields, and one member who represents a nonprofit organization located within the City limits
The city asks that applications be submitted by 5 p.m. on Oct. 21.
