Colorado Springs Walk to End Alzheimer’s happening Saturday

Alzheimer's Association of Colorado

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KRDO) -- Hundreds of people are expected to come together Saturday for the Colorado Springs Walk to End Alzheimer's.

According to the Alzheimer's Association of Colorado, the Colorado Springs Walk, which is one of 13 in the state, will raise funds to provide essential services to families and support research to find a cure. The Colorado Springs walk has a fundraising goal of $235,000. Collectively, the 13 walks have a goal of $2.42 million.

The organization says the proceeds from the walks are the primary sources of funds for the Alzheimer’s Association of Colorado, enabling it to continue to provide the information, programs, and services for those who receive an Alzheimer’s diagnosis, as well as services for their family and caregivers. All of those services are provided at no charge.

The Colorado Springs Walk to End Alzheimer’s registration will open at 8:30 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 1, at Memorial Park. The walk begins at 10 a.m.
