Pedestrian killed in hit-and-run crash near Palmer Park in Colorado Springs

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KRDO) -- The Colorado Springs Police Department (CSPD) is searching for the driver who they say hit and killed a pedestrian before taking off from the scene.

Officers were called to the area of N. Academy Blvd. and Maizeland Rd. Just after 10 p.m. Tuesday. When officers arrived they determined that the pedestrian - who was either walking along or riding a bicycle - was struck by a vehicle. They were pronounced dead at the scene.

CSPD says the vehicle responsible left the area going northbound on Academy.
