HSPPR holding Pawtoberfest fundraiser event Saturday at Bear Creek Park

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KRDO) -- The Humane Society of the Pikes Peak Region (HSPPR) is holding its Pawtoberfest fundraising event again after a two-year hiatus.
The HSPPR said the event is expected to draw around 1,500 people and raise more than $200,000.
The dog-friendly festival will feature craft brews and spirits, a two-mile dog walk, freebies, music, pet contests, activities for the whole family, and food from local food trucks.
All proceeds from the event will go to fund programs benefiting homeless and abused animals in the Pikes Peak Region.
Pawtoberfest is happening Saturday, Sept. 17, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Bear Creek Regional Park West in Colorado Springs.
