CDOT to receive federal funding to invest in electric transit buses

COLORADO (KRDO) -- Federal funds are coming to Colorado to invest in clean transit buses.

The Colorado Department of Transportation will receive $34 million dollars from one grant on behalf of Summit Sage, a transit agency in Park, Summit, and Lake Counties.

Summit Sage will use the grant to build a bus depot for electrical charging and storage. The new facility will replace the aging one and be capable of housing a 100 percent electric fleet in the future.

The new funding is part of the bipartisan infrastructure law.
