Dog gets new hairdo and chance at life thanks to Pueblo shelter

PUEBLO, Colo. (KRDO) -- A little dog, brought into the Humane Society of the Pikes Peak Region's (HSPPR) Pueblo shelter, has a reason is all clean and ready for his new life.
According to the HSPPR, when Alfie was brought into the shelter his fur was severely mattered. His coat was covered in urine and feces.
The shelter's veterinary team quickly brought him to the clinic for a medical shave-down. After about an hour of grooming and 1.2 pounds of fur removed, he's a whole new dog.

The HSPPR says under all that matting Alfie is a charming pup with the sweetest smile. Due to his hair loss, he was given a sweater.
The shelter has yet to say when or if Alfie will be up for adoption. For more information on other animals looking for a forever home, click here.
