Funeral and procession for fallen El Paso County Sheriff’s Dep. Andrew Peery planned Aug. 15

EL PASO COUNTY, Colo. (KRDO) -- Wednesday, the El Paso County Sheriff's Office released information for the funeral and procession for Dep. Andrew Peery.

On August 7, the sheriff's office says two deputies and a Fountain police officer responded to a reported shooting in Security-Widefield. When they arrived, EPCSO said they were met with gunfire.

Deputy Andrew Peery was one of two victims who died in that shooting. According to the Colorado Springs Police Department, the suspect, John Paz, died from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound.

Monday, Aug. 15 at 10 a.m., the EPCSO said a convoy carrying Dep. Peery and his family will arrive at New Life Church at 11025 Voyager Parkway in Colorado Springs, Colorado.

The designated parking lot for emergency vehicles participating in the procession will open at 7 a.m. Law enforcement, fire department, and EMS vehicles equipped with emergency lights and sirens will be permitted to participate in the procession.

Participants must be parked no later than 9 a.m. in order to be included. All attending uniformed personnel are asked to form up outside the main church entrance to greet their arrival no later than 9 a.m. and remain in formation until Dep. Peery and his family are escorted inside by the EPSO Mounted unit and combined Honor Guard.

According to the EPCSO, a law enforcement funeral service with full honors will commence to honor the life and mourn the Line of Duty Death of Dep. Peery. This will begin at 11 a.m.

This service will be open to the public. Separate parking areas for all others attending the service are also designated. A map for the general public is below.

Following the service, there will be an emergency vehicle procession that will depart from the church. The route is outlined below:
