Pueblo County High Schoolers helped build a playground at South Mesa Elementary
PUEBLO COUNTY, Colo. (KRDO) -- Thanks to more than 70 high school students, a Pueblo County elementary school has a new playground ahead of the upcoming school year.
According to District 70, students from Pueblo County High School spent Tuesday spreading mulch "goodwill" at South Mesa Elementary.
The district says South Mesa was chosen by the school's committee, but it was originally out of budget. However, a dedicated group of Pueblo County Hornets saved the school money by helping with the project.
In doing so, D70 was able to spend the money on equipment.
The district thanked everyone who volunteered and helped make the new playground come to life.
