UCHealth Memorial Hospital in Colorado Springs ranked one of the best hospitals in the state

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KRDO) -- U.S. News & World Report ranked UCHealth Memorial Hospital as one of the best hospitals in the state and the best in Southern Colorado.

According to the magazine, UCHealth Memorial Hospital in Colorado Springs was recognized as the No. 4 hospital in Colorado. Additionally, it was ranked No. 1 in Colorado Springs.

Officials with UCHealth said this makes it the highest-ranked hospital in Southern Colorado.

“While the effects of the pandemic continue to impact hospitals across the country, these rankings are a testament to the dedication and perseverance of UCHealth’s dedicated staff and clinicians in providing the very best care for our patients,” said Elizabeth B. Concordia, UCHealth President and CEO in a press release. “Quality, safety, and an excellent experience for our patients are always UCHealth’s top priorities.”

UCHealth Memorial Central in Colorado Springs is a Level 1 Trauma Center and a Comprehensive Stroke Center, the only hospital in Southern Colorado with those designations.

Three additional UCHealth hospitals in the state were also ranked by U.S. News & World Report:

  • University of Colorado Hospital in Aurora No. 1
  • Medical Center of the Rockies in Loveland No. 2
  • Poudre Valley Hospital in Fort Collins No. 5

According to officials, the annual Best Hospitals rankings are designed to assist patients and their doctors in making informed decisions. For the 2022-23 rankings, U.S. News evaluated more than 4,500 medical centers nationwide in 15 specialties ad 17 procedures and conditions.
