COLORADO (KRDO) -- Colorado Parks and Wildlife (CPW) wants you to celebrate Colorado Day by getting out and enjoying one (or more) of the state's 42 beautiful state parks.

On Colorado Day, August 1, entrance will be free to all state parks for everyone.

To find the state park nearest to you, use CPW's, Park Finder.

Ahead of Colorado Day, CPW has chosen to highlight a few of the state's most breathtaking parks.

State Forest State Park

State Forest State Park

State Forest State Park is one of the state's most beautiful parks, and also its largest. At 71,000 acres, the park boasts rugged mountains, alpine lakes, access to multiple rivers, and a large moose population (remember to keep your distance).

Stagecoach State Park

Stagecoach State Park

Located in the lush Yampa Valley, Stagecoach State Park features a three-mile-long reservoir and great views of the Flat Top Mountains. Anglers and bird watchers will find a number of species to catch and watch at the park. CPW says more than 200 species of birds can be seen at the park. Boaters and water recreationists of all kinds will find wakeless and wake-permitting areas, as well as rentals and a full-service marina.

Eleven Mile and Spinney Mountain State Parks

Eleven Mile State Park

A little closer to the Front Range, you will find Eleven Mile and Spinney Mountain State Parks. Both are just over an hour's drive from Colorado Springs, heading west on Highway 24. Both Eleven Mile and Spinney Mountain offer some of the best fishing the State of Colorado has to offer. Both offer anglers access from the shore as well as by boat. There is no camping at Spiney Mountain, as it is day use only. Eleven Mile offers numerous campgrounds, both in the heart of the park and the backcountry. Reservations are required for campsites.

You can find everything you need to know about Colorado's state parks, including a complete list of parks, on CPW's State Parks page.
