Victim identified in fatal motorcycle crash at S. Tejon and I-25

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KRDO) -- Friday, the Colorado Springs Police Department released the name of a motorcyclist who died in a crash near I-25.

Early Monday morning, police responded to the intersection of S. Tejon St. and I-25 for a crash involving a motorcycle.

According to police, a vehicle was making a left-hand turn onto the northbound I-25 on-ramp when the southbound motorcycle collided with it. Witnesses in the area rendered aid to the motorcycle rider until the Colorado Springs Fire Department arrived.

Police said that despite the efforts of witnesses and medical personnel, the motorcyclist died at the scene.

The El Paso County Coroners Office completed the autopsy and identified the motorcycle rider as 30-year-old Branon Forrest. No further information about the circumstances of the crash has been released at this time.

According to the Colorado Springs Police Department, this is the 27th fatal crash in the city this year. Fourteen of these crashes have been motorcycle fatalities.

At this time last year, there were 25 traffic fatalities in Colorado Springs.
