CU Boulder is exploring space weather

BOULDER, Colo. (KRDO) -- The sun and the earth are in what's usually a pretty smooth relationship. However, when they aren't, scientists call that space weather.

A team from CU Boulder is on a new mission to explore what causes it.

CU Boulder will design and build the instrument that will measure the volatility between earth and the sun. They expect that we will then observe the most comprehensive measurement of a solar storm impacting the earth's magnetic field when these satellites launch in a few years.
