FREMONT COUNTY, Colo (KRDO) -- The Fremont County Fair kicks off at Pathfinder Regional Park this Saturday. The Fremont County Fair Board members told KRDO that this is the first time the event will take place there.

According to Fremont County Board members, the fair previously happened at the Royal Gorge Redo in Cańon City in past years.

"We have way more room out here. So the car shows that we're having, the tractors some of what we're having, I guess then we used to, and a lot more food vendors than we used to have up there because we didn't have space for it," said Mark Masar, Fremont County Fair Board member.

The fair kicks off with a dog show Friday, and a junior rodeo follows. Also on, the fair schedule displays fun events like cake decorating and a circus show.

Organizers said the event is welcome to all ages.

Fair organizers said most events have no entry fee, but it will be noted on the flyer here.

Other than the fun events, Masar said it's all about bringing the community together.

"I think it's huge for the community. It keeps everyone grounded," said Mark Masar.

The fair will be going on from July 22 through June 30 with various activities each day.
