Community invited to meeting about proposed electrical substation in Colorado Springs

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KRDO) -- Colorado Springs Utilities is holding a meeting to discuss a proposal to add a new electrical substation.

According to the utility company, the new location would be at Austin Bluffs and Goldenrod Dr. Springs Utilities said the project would consolidate two aging facilities into one.

Springs Utilities shared the image below of a rendering of the future site. If approved, construction would begin in the spring of 2024 and would take two years to complete.

The meeting begins on Wednesday, July 20 at 5 p.m. at the Colorado Springs Christian Schools Auditorium.
