Goats help hold off fire in Elbert County

ELBERT COUNTY, Colo. (KRDO) -- Thanks to a group of goats, a fire in Elbert County started by fireworks wasn't as bad as it could've been.

The HOA management company had used goats to lower the fuel supply. This is similar to mowing the lawn officials say.

According to fire crews, the damage would have been much worse if it wasn't for the homeowner's goats.

The fire crews also credit homeowners for using fire extinguishers to hold off the flames until they could arrive.
