Hancock Expressway is under construction; expect traffic delays

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KRDO) -- Starting July 5, 2022, Hancock Expressway will be under construction.

Traffic on the Hancock Expressway Bridge going over Spring Creek will be moved to the eastbound side of the bridge to allow for maintenance. There will be one lane of traffic open in each direction.

Once the work is complete in the westbound lanes, all traffic going over the Hancock Expressway Bridge over Spring Creek will be moved to the westbound side of the bridge. There will also be one lane of traffic open in each direction.

The City of Colorado Springs is asking motorists to pay close attention to posted speed limits and signs throughout the construction area. This will help the safety and expediency of construction and the safety of the traveling public. The city also advises people to find an alternate route if possible.

The project is expected to take 20 weeks to complete.
