Fans swarm Denver for the Avalanche victory parade

DENVER, Colo. (KRDO) -- It has been 21 years since the Colorado Avalance housed the Stanley Cup.

The parade in Denver was a full-blown celebration of their victorious season.

Thousands of fans showed up at Civic Center Park and the surrounding area for the parade and celebration ceremony on June 30, 2022.

KRDO Newschannel 13's Jessica Gruenling was in Downtown Denver all morning long, leading up to the rally and parade.

She wasn't sure who had the bigger cheer the cup or Cale Maker. Landeskog, the team captain, walked in the street greeting fans. "Let's go Avs" and "We got the cup" was chanted throughout the event.

Following the parade, fans swarmed to the park to hear from the Avalanche players.

Watch the video above for her full recap of the hours leading up to the celebratory parade.
