WATCH: Colorado Avalanche 2022 Stanley Cup champion celebration parade in Denver

DENVER, Colo. (KRDO) -- The Colorado Avalanche is celebrating the Stanley Cup win over the Tampa Bay Lightning with a parade in Downtown Denver.

Thursday's festivities began at Civic Center Park with live music and a highlight reel of the team's 2021-2022 season.

The parade began at 10 a.m. at Union Station. Avalanche players rode atop fire trucks and walked beside the crowd, showing off Lord Stanley's Cup to fans as they made their way down 17th st. to Broadway.

Eventually, they made returned to Civic Center. After a brief break, the Avalanche players joined coaches, Denver Mayor Michael Hancock, and Governor Jared Polis to present the Stanley Cup to the crowd and discuss the road to victory. Additionally, players were honored during this time.
