Police warn public about phone scam requesting personal information in Colorado Springs

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KRDO) -- The police department is warning the public about a phone scam circulating in Colorado Springs.

According to police, people have said they received a phone call requesting personal information and the caller would claim to work for the Records Department at the Colorado Springs Police Department.

If you have received a suspicious call from someone claiming to work for the Colorado Springs Police Department, police say to request to meet the officer or detective in person at any Colorado Springs Police Department.
