Golf tournament to raise funds for body armor for El Paso County Sheriff’s deputies

 EL PASO COUNTY, Colo. (KRDO) -- A charity golf tournament will take place on June 28 to raise money for rifle-related body armor that will be given to deputies with the El Paso County Sheriff's Office.

According to the sheriff's office, 30 deputies will receive the body armor.

Shield616, in conjunction with local firm Integrity Bank & Trust, is sponsoring the 11th Annual Integrity Bank and Trust Charitable Golf Tournament.

Shield616is an organization that pairs private and business donors with law enforcement agencies and personnel across the country. These donors raise funds to equip recipients with potentially lifesaving body armor and equipment. 

The tournament is expected to raise about $50,000. It will begin at 7:30 a.m. at the Flying Horse North golf course.

After the tournament, Sheriff Bill Elder, CEO and founder of Shield616 Jeff Skifstad, and Larry Dozier of Integrity Wealth Advisors will speak as the equipment is presented to these deputies.
