Motorcyclist dies after being ejected from bike Friday afternoon in Colorado Springs

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KRDO) -- A motorcyclist is dead after being ejected from their bike and striking a car on Woodmen Road on the northeast side of town Friday afternoon, according to the Colorado Springs Police Department.
Police said a motorcycle was traveling westbound on Woodmen around 3:30 p.m. and a car was traveling eastbound making a turn onto Campus Drive. That's when police said the motorcyclist braked, ejecting the driver from the bike, before they entered the intersection.
The driver of the car also braked to avoid a collision and the motorcyclist struck the vehicle. They died on scene.
CSPD said speed is being investigated as a factor in the crash.
Eastbound Woodmen just east of I-25 is now reopened after being closed for several hours.
