EL PASO CO., Colo. (KRDO) -- Three people were injured in a fiery crash near Fountain Thursday evening.

Fountain Police and Fire units responded to the area near the intersection of Squirrel Creek Rd. and Shumway Rd. just after 7:30 p.m. When officers and firefighters arrived they found a vehicle fully engulfed in flames.

Investigators determined that the vehicle in question was traveling westbound on Squirrel Creek Rd. when it left the roadway and rolled several times. Three people who were riding in the vehicle were ejected.

Two of the victims were transported to a local hospital. Investigators say a third victim suffered serious burns and was airlifted to a hospital in Denver.

The Fountain Police Accident Reconstruction Team has taken over the investigation. Initial information suggests speed may have played a factor in this crash. At this time it's unknown if drugs or alcohol are factors.
