Life Jackets 101: Staying safe on the water with Colorado Parks and Wildlife
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KRDO) -- Colorado is on pace to break the state's record for drownings set two years ago.
In 2020, 34 people died on Colorado lakes and rivers.
With several recent drownings at Lake Pueblo State Park in 2022, and Father's Day being the busiest day of the year for state parks, Colorado Parks and Wildlife is doing what it can to emphasize the importance of life jackets.
CPW's Joey Livingston recently stopped by the KRDO studios to chat with Bart Bedsole about the various types of Personal Flotation Devices (PFDs), and also the rules for when life jackets must be present or worn.
Additional rules and regulations on life jackets and boating safety can be found on the Colorado Parks and Wildlife website.
