Wildfire burning north of Del Norte in Saguache County, pre-evacuation orders in place
SAGUACHE COUNTY, Colo. (KRDO) -- A neighborhood in Saguache County has been downgraded from a mandatory evacuation to pre-evacuation orders in response to a nearby fire.
According to the U.S. Forest Service, the Lopez Fire began Sunday around 4:30 p.m. It's burning 10 miles north of Del Norte, off Forest Service Road #670.

There was a mandatory evacuation order for the La Garita Creek area. Around 9 p.m. Sunday, however, officials said the order was downgraded to pre-evacuation. Residents are still advised to remain on alert.
At 9 a.m. Monday, the Forest Service said the Lopez Fire had remained at 88 acres with 0% containment. However, officials said the fire was expected to grow Monday night.
