Police report sexually violent predator residing in East Colorado Springs
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KRDO) -- The Colorado Springs Police Department (CSPD) is warning the community that Joseph Scott Gould, a sexually violent predator (SVP) has resided to an address in East Colorado Springs.
In 2011, Gould was convicted of Sexual Assault on a Child in El Paso County. In 2005, he was also convicted of Sexual Assault on a Child in Nebraska.
By law, police must notify the community and take the following actions:
- Notified the Division of Criminal Justice’s Sex Offender Management Board (SOMB)
Notification Team. - Reviewed and confirmed Gould’s residence, employment, access to vehicles, legal status, and past crimes.
- Made notifications to neighbors and businesses deemed to be in the immediate area.
- Briefed patrol personnel on Gould’s status, history, appearance, residence, employment, and vehicles.
- Notified surrounding law enforcement agencies.
- Provided an online video that describes the SVP community notification process, SVP information and additional resources for the community.
- Online SVP Community Notification video on the City of Colorado Springs' website. First, click on 'Public Safety,' then 'Police.'
According to CSPD, Gould is described to a 40-year-old white man with brown hair and blue eyes. He is five feet, seven inches tall and weighs 294 pounds.
Gould is now registered at 3105 East Dale St. #207. He was previously registered at 2633 Summit Dr. in Colorado Springs.
Police report Gould is one of the 20 SVPs currently registered with the Colorado Springs Police Department (CSPD).
