Victim in Colorado Springs apartment shooting identified
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KRDO) -- Thursday, the Colorado Springs Police Department released the name of the woman found dead inside an apartment following a shooting.
On May 21, officers received a report of a shooting at 3040 Mallard Drive, the Mallard Meadows Apartments, at 12:51 p.m.
At the scene, they found a woman suffering from an apparent gunshot wound.
Monday, the El Paso County Coroner's Office completed the autopsy and identified the victim as 18-year-old Malaya Leary.
Police have since arrested 19-year-old Eric Lockhart for Manslaughter.

The Colorado Springs Police Department says this is the 21st homicide investigation in the City of Colorado Springs so far this year. This time last year, CSPD says there were 17 homicide investigations.
