Evacuations for fire burning near Falcon lifted, fire contained

EL PASO COUNTY, Colo. (KRDO) -- Crews are managing hot spots at a fire that was reportedly burning near Falcon and forced mandatory evacuations.

At 5:05 p.m., the Falcon Fire Department announced the fire was contained and crews were managing hot spots.

At 5:18 p.m., the EPCSO announced the evacuations had been lifted and residents in the affected area can return home.

Below were the evacuation boundaries:

  • South of Judge Orr
  • East of East Highway 24
  • North of Falcon Highway
  • West of Curtis Road

Residents were told to evacuate now.

According to the El Paso County Sheriff's Office, the Falcon Fire Department is the lead agency on the fire.
