Cheyenne Mountain Zoo in the running for best zoo in America

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KRDO)-- The Cheyenne Mountain Zoo is in the running for USA Today's list of the "Best Zoo in North America."

Now, the zoo is asking for the help of southern Coloradans. They hope residents can give a final push in votes for the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo to win. Voting closes May 23rd at 10 a.m. To cast your vote, click here.

Cheyenne Mountain Zoo came in fourth place last year. Although the current rankings are hidden, the zoo says the last update showed them in third place this year.

They are also nominated for "Best Exhibit in North America" for the Rocky Mountain Wild exhibit.

The rankings will be announced on Friday, June 4.
