Crews respond to structure fire east of Security-Widefield

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KRDO) -- The Colorado Springs Fire Department responded to a working fire east of Security-Widefield.

According to CSFD, the fire was reported at 9:37 a.m. at 9134 Chieftan Dr.

An initial report from crews on the scene saw heavy flames were coming from the side of the structure.

At 10:12 a.m., CSFD reported the majority of the fire was put out. Photos show flames coming from the side of the house.

Firefighters will remain at the scene for overhaul.

The cause of the fire is unknown.
