Smoke from New Mexico fires impacting air quality at Colorado state parks

USFS

COLORADO (KRDO) -- Colorado Parks and Wildlife (CPW) officials are warning visitors that smoke from massive wildfires in New Mexico will seriously impact air quality at two southern Colorado state parks.

CPW says the smoke is reaching Fishers Peak State Park and Lake Trinidad State Park, both in Las Animas County near the New Mexico border.

CPW is urging visitors to visit this site for the latest information on the path of the smoke. Meanwhile, New Mexico state officials say the Hermits Peak and Calf Canyon fires are burning 203,920 acres, and are just under 40% contained.
