Colorado Springs Fire holds third week of Town Hall-Living with Wildfire meetings

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KRDO) -- Two more Town Hall meetings are happening this week to inform Colorado Springs residents about wildfires specific to the neighborhood they live in.

The meetings are part of a Town Hall Series called Living with Wildfire. CSFD says the Living with Wildfire series "aims to empower the community to be ready if a wildfire happens." The topics discussed at these meetings are:

  • How to prepare your home for wildfire
  • Creating a wildfire action plan
  • Knowing when and how to evacuate

The two meetings this week are for residents who live north of Garden of the Gods, south of Woodmen, and west of I-25 in the following neighborhoods:

  • Mountain Shadows
  • Pinecliff
  • Rockrimmon
  • Peregrine
  • Woodmen Valley

This week, meetings are being held:

  • Tuesday, May 10:
    • 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
    • Woodman Valley Chapel – Stone Chapel at 280 E. Woodman Rd., Colorado Springs
  • Thursday, May 12:
    • 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
    • Foothills Elementary School at 825 Allegheny Dr., Colorado Springs

If you're unable to attend, the meetings will be available on the Colorado Springs Fire Department's Facebook.

There have already been two sets of meetings.
