One dead, two injured during crash in Chaffee County Saturday evening
CHAFFEE COUNTY, Colo. (KRDO)-- Colorado State Patrol says one person died Saturday evening after a three-car crash near Buena Vista.
Officials say two other people were taken to the hospital. Their condition is unknown. Neither the injured nor the deceased victim were in the car that caused the crash.
CSP says the driver that caused the crash was a 22-year-old man from Steamboat Springs. They looked into whether speed, alcohol, or drugs were factors in the crash, but did not find any indication that was the case.
State Patrol told KRDO the crash happened just after 5:30 P.M. Saturday on Highway 24 at milepost 201. The road was closed in both directions, but has since begun alternating traffic.
The investigation is ongoing.
