Colorado Springs Fire Department responds to crash involving semi

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KRDO) -- The Colorado Springs Fire Department (CSFD) responded to a crash involving a semi-trailer.

According to CSFD, Engine 14 responded to the crash at the intersection of Briargate Blvd. and N. Academy Blvd. around 9:20 a.m. Thursday.

According to first responders on-scene, two people in a Toyota RAV4 when the SUV was hit on the passenger side by the truck. The drivers of both vehicles were treated at the scene with minor injuries. The passenger in the RAV4 had to be extricated and was transported to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Colorado Springs Police are investigating the cause of this crash.
