Hit gas line shuts down northbound Tejon St. at E. Las Animas St.

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KRDO) -- Crews are working on repairing a hit gas line that forced the temporary closure of Tejon St. in Downtown Colorado Springs.

The Colorado Springs Police Department first reported the closure at 1:12 p.m. According to police, northbound Tejon St. is closed at E. Las Animas St.

Colorado Springs Utilities told KRDO crews need to squeeze the lines off to fix the issue.

According to the utility company, the crews that hit the line are not from Springs Utilities. There is no estimated time for reopening Tejon St.

Editors note: Police originally said this was a gas leak, Colorado Springs Utilities clarified with KRDO that this incident is a hit gas line.
