Motorcyclist killed in crash involving a pick-up truck on Tuesday night

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KRDO) -- A motorcyclist was killed late Tuesday night after being involved in a crash with a pick-up truck in northeast Colorado Springs.

On Tuesday, Colorado Springs Police Department’s Communications Center received a report at around 10:14 p.m. about a crash that involved a motorcycle and pick-up truck at the intersection of Briargate Parkway and Chapel Hills Dr.

Police say the motorcycle was occupied by two individuals. Both suffered serious juries in the crash. The passenger is in critical condition. They were transported and being treated for serious life-threatening injuries.

The two individuals were transported to a nearby hospital where the driver later died.

The individuals in the pick-up truck were also treated for minor injuries from the crash.

On Wednesday, the intersection of Briargate Parkway and Chapel Hills opened back up at of 3:04 a.m.

The Colorado Springs Police Department’s Major Crash Team is taking over the investigation. Police say speed and alcohol are considered to be a contributing factor in the crash.
