Boy Scouts of America help Scouts in Ukraine with fundraiser at Pueblo Pizza Ranch
PUEBLO, Colo. (KRDO) -- Local Boy Scout troops are partnering with a Pueblo restaurant to hold a fundraiser to raise money for the Scouts of Ukraine.
Troops 27, 20, 2019, Crew 100, and Pathway to the Rockies Council BSA are hosting a fundraiser Wednesday at Pizza Ranch. According to officials, regional efforts are being coordinated by the European Region of the World Organization of the Scout Movement with donations flowing through the National Organization of the Scouts of Ukraine.
This is part of Pizza Ranch Comunity Impact Nights, which allows local non-profits to raise funds for their causes. Youth play a huge role in helping out through these events as they act as bussers and helpers
According to Boy Scouts of America (BSA), 15% of all sales, tips, and extra donations will go towards the National Organization of the Scouts of Ukraine.
The organization says "this is a great example of American Scouts helping their fellow Scouts overseas in a time of need."
The BSA says there will be boys and girls helping from the Scouts BSA and Venturing programs.
The funds will go towards purchasing medicine, food, water, shelter supplies, and access to psychological support for young people and communities being affected by the conflict in Ukraine.
The fundraiser begins at 4:30 p.m. and runs until 8:30 p.m. Wednesday, March 30 at Pizza Ranch, located at 1761 S. Pueblo Blvd, Pueblo, CO 81005
